How the outreach works
01
Research the right rooms
We build a list of events, associations and companies whose audiences match your topic, then find the person who books speakers at each one: program chairs, event directors, education leads.
02
Write a pitch that sounds like you
Every email is specific to the event, short, and leads with your reel. No mass blasts and no generic templates.
03
Send, follow up, hand off
We run the campaign and follow-ups and pass interested replies to you, so your time goes to conversations, not prospecting.
Results so far
Keith Ferrazzi, #1 New York Times bestselling author. We ran cold email campaigns targeting functional leaders, including CIOs of major corporations. In Keith's recorded testimonial he says the campaigns delivered "somewhere close to 81 qualified leads" and conversations he "wouldn't have had otherwise". Those included CXO-level conversations at companies such as L'Oréal, Hitachi and Twitch, and his booked speaking engagements per month came close to doubling.
Steve Taubman, bestselling author and professional mentalist. Our outreach put his proposal in front of a professional society's program committee, and he was invited to speak at its annual meeting in New York City, with an honorarium, round-trip airfare, two hotel nights, ground transportation and complimentary registration.
Doug Noll, lawyer turned peacemaker. Our outreach got his workshop, "Conflict to Connection", selected for a statewide summit.
Why cold outreach instead of waiting for a bureau
Bureaus mostly represent speakers who already have demand, and they typically take 20% to 30% of every fee. Marketplaces and lead lists put you in a queue with hundreds of other applicants. Direct outreach lets you choose the rooms you want and reach the person who decides. See speakers bureau vs done-for-you outreach for the math.
What it is not
- Not a bureau. We do not take a commission on your fee.
- Not a guarantee. We put you in front of decision-makers; you still have to be the right fit.
- Not a database subscription. We do the research, writing and sending.
Pricing
Outreach is priced separately from reel production and quoted on your goals, topic and target market. Tell us about your speaking and we will tell you if it is a fit. If you do not yet have a strong reel, we usually recommend starting there, because every pitch leads with it.
“We were able to land actual conversations that I wouldn't have had otherwise.”
Questions people ask
How much does speaker booking outreach cost?
It is quoted separately from reel production, based on your goals and target market. It is never bundled into the $3,000 reel price.
Do you guarantee bookings?
No. Anyone who guarantees paid bookings is either taking on very little risk or not being straight with you. We guarantee the work: real research, real decision-makers, personal pitches.
Who do you pitch me to?
Conferences, associations, corporate event and learning teams, and bureaus that fit your topic and fee. We find the specific person who selects speakers.
Do I need a reel first?
It helps a lot. Every pitch leads with your reel, so a weak reel weakens the whole campaign. Many speakers start with reel production.
