What actually matters
Your time vs your money
SpeakerHUB's self-serve plans are inexpensive, and that is a real advantage. The cost is your time. A database gives you names of events; you still have to decide which ones fit, find the right contact, write a pitch that does not sound like every other pitch, send it, and follow up. Most speakers who stall on self-serve tools do not stall for lack of leads. They stall because prospecting competes with delivering talks, writing and running a business.
Hop On Stages does that work for you. We build the list, identify the person who chooses speakers, write the pitch around your reel, send it and follow up, then pass interested replies to you.
A shared database vs a custom list
A large database is useful, and SpeakerHUB's is big. But every other member can see the same listings, so the open calls draw a crowd. Our lists are built for one speaker at a time, and they include organizations that never post an open call. The best rooms often do not advertise; someone simply picks a speaker they have already seen.
The video behind the pitch
SpeakerHUB does not make reels. Neither does any database. Whatever you pitch, the planner clicks through to your video, and that is where the decision happens. We make cinematic speaker reels as our core service, so the reel and the outreach are designed together.
Their done-for-you agency
SpeakerHUB also runs a done-for-you agency (SpeakerVA) whose team handles outreach and pitching. Its price was not shown when we checked, and the page says "All plans have a 3-month commitment". If you like SpeakerHUB's database and want someone else to work it, ask for that quote alongside ours. The main differences you will find are where the leads come from (their database vs custom research) and whether a reel is part of the package.
What SpeakerHUB is
SpeakerHUB is a speaker platform with a public profile, a searchable database of speaking opportunities and paid tiers that add outreach features. It says it is trusted by 60,000+ speakers and lists 44,000+ conferences, and it takes no commission on bookings. It also sells lead credit packs and lifetime plans. It is one of the cheapest serious tools a speaker can use.
Using both
Plenty of speakers keep a SpeakerHUB profile for inbound discovery and hire outreach for the outbound side. They do not conflict. For more options, see SpeakerHUB alternatives and SpeakerMatch vs SpeakerHUB.
Which one should you choose?
SpeakerHUB is the better choice if
- You have the time and the habit to pitch every week
- Your budget is tight and $19 to $47 a month is the right spend
- You want a public profile planners can find
- You like working from a big database of open opportunities
Hop On Stages is the better choice if
- You want the pitching done for you, start to finish
- You want rooms that never post an open call
- Your reel needs to be rebuilt before anyone sees it
- You would rather spend your time on conversations than prospecting
Questions people ask
Is SpeakerHUB worth it compared with done-for-you outreach?
If you will actually pitch every week, SpeakerHUB is very good value at $0 to $47 a month. If you will not, a cheap tool you do not use costs more than it looks. Done-for-you outreach costs more but the work happens without you.
How much is SpeakerHUB's done-for-you agency?
The price was not shown on its site when we checked (October 21, 2026). The page says all plans have a 3-month commitment.
Does SpeakerHUB take a commission?
No. SpeakerHUB charges subscription or lifetime fees, not a commission. Hop On Stages does not take a commission either.
Can I keep my SpeakerHUB profile if I hire Hop On Stages?
Yes. A profile helps inbound discovery; our outreach is outbound. Many speakers run both.
